Marc Jacobs Sues Ed Hardy

Marc Jacobs is suing Christian Audigier for trademark infringement because Audigier’s Ed Hardy line have brought out a handbag remarkably similar to the Pretty Nylon Tote bag from Marc by Marc Jacobs.

They sure do look alike – the logo stitching, the shape, the external pockets – so all signs are pointing to Guilty. Of course, the only obvious difference is the fact that the Audigier bag has a heinous tattoos slapped upon it – as is the trademark look of all the brand’s products.

We’re not sure what’s worse: copying another designer’s creation, or actually being copied by Ed Hardy.

Marc Jacobs must be feeling kind of ashamed that he designed something that actually appealed to the visionaries behind the brand worn by peeps like this:
