Shot by Mario Testino the campaign sees Riley once again captured monochromatically, Christopher Bailey (Creative Director of Burberry) said of the photographs: “The campaign is nostalgic, returning to our signature black and white and capturing the poetic melancholy and romance of the winter collections which were inspired by LS Lowry. Menswear is reinforced with an actor I admire enormously, Sam Riley, playing one half of the ‘Burberry couple’ alongside the fresh-faced British beauty that is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.”
Playing Ian Curtis and appearing in Burberry advertisements pretty much makes Sam Riley the most quintessentially English hipster on the planet (only to be dethroned if James Bond was real, modeled for Vivienne Westwood and took over John Lennon’s role in a reunited Beatles…)
