Selena Gomez’s Blonde Hair Required 8 Bowls Of Bleach & Her Will To Live

We all know going blonde isn’t a quick trip to the hairdressers. It takes blood, sweat and tears to get a natural brunette to platinum or anywhere on the proper blonde-blonde spectrum – but good lord, hearing about the process really does hammer it home with the subtlety of a brick through a window, doesn’t it.

Selena Gomez went blonde right before the AMA’s this week. As with all celeb hair changes, it was big news. Eye roll all you like, that business gets us clicking.

Now, her hairdressers Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee have spilled on just how bloody long it took to get Selena blonde. Yes folks, this is real blonde – none of this wig trickery Kylie Jenner pulls on us weekly.

“It took 9 hours, about 300 foils, and 8 bowls of bleach, all with 2 stylists working together simultaneously,” explains Riawna on her Instagram. “It was a nice long patient process of baby fine slices, then going back and opening each foil and reapplying, but done in one sitting.”

Riawna stresses that you can do a blonde transformation in a day, but you’ll need to find a hairdresser with some serious levels of patience.

“Anything is possible in one day, it just takes time, no other clients ha, and patience to maintain the integrity of the hair. And to all you clients that want this, hopefully this explains the process a bit better so you can now be VERY patient with your stylist.”

Tbh I will stick to my plain brown hair and keep those 9 hours, thanks and bye.
