Taken over nine months and selected from some 150,000 images, University of Queensland PhD student Daniel Stoupin’s time lapse macro lens photography of Great Barrier Reef coral shot in marine tanks and converted into GIF format is perhaps the most silently persuasive, mesmerising argument that you could ever need in favour of protecting Australia’s greatest living asset from the contentious dumping of three million cubic metres of dredge soil.
