French Vogue Turns 90 With Lara Stone

You never should ask a lady her age because they get all weird and bitchy about it but, unlike the majority of its readership, French Vogue has been spreading the word about its 90th birthday on 27 September by celebrating with a special edition birthday issue: 624 pages of the fashion, beauty, lifestyle and that tres French je ne sais quoi of editor in chief Carine Roitfeld.

Mario Sorrenti, David Sims, Terry Richardson, Steven Klein, Hedi Slimane and the duos Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin will all have editorials included and the collection of oversized photographs (tracking the last ninety years) are rumoured to be unbound on thick paper so they can be mounted on the walls of French Vogue readers. Most importantly is the cover image featuring French Vogue favourite, the spectacular Lara Stone looking smoking hot (see image below).

As Carine Roitfeld told WWD, “We couldn’t do a lukewarm issue.”
