UK FHM have apologized for the offensive copy it published to accompany their listing of Australian male model Andrej Pejic as the 98th Sexiest Woman In The World. The magazine offered a strained apology after readers expressed disgust at the appallingly transphobic write up.
The London-based magazine blamed editing issues for the insensitivity issuing a hand-washing apology on Monday:
“Regrettably the copy accompanying Andrej’s online entry wasn’t subbed prior to going live. Once we realised, we removed it immediately and apologised for any offence caused,” the magazine said. “FHM has spoken to the individual concerned and taken steps to ensure this can never happen again.”
