These little (or big, I guess) numbers are by Daniel Palillo. He makes a lot of really awesome oversized, androgynous top pieces (dresses, shirts, hoodies, etc.) paired with skin tight bottoms for men and women. I was recently able to ask him a few questions about his work. I think he’s a ‘minimalist’ when it comes to interviews though, because this one is a tiny baby interview! Anyway, here it is.
Me: Do you mind telling us a bit about yourself and how you got started?
DP: I am living in Helsinki. I studied fashion in Helsinki university of Arts and design. After that it has just went to that.
Me: What would you say your main source for inspiration is?
DP: It changes every season. It can go from muppets, voodoo to sailors. But music is quite important for me when I am working. Its not necessary the inspiration but it is more a mood thing when I am working.
Me: Do you like making clothes for boys or girls more?
DP: For me its the same I enjoy both.
Me: What has been the best moment in your fashion career, thus far?
DP: Selling my first collection.
Me: What does the future hold for you?
DP: No idea. I live day by day.
