Chronicles Of Never Do Womenswear

AW11 marks Chronicles of Never’s first foray into womenswear. This is good news for female fans of the label, known for its drapery, minimalism and leather work. The lookbook is indicative of the label’s minimalist bent; the models’ bodies are digitally deleted and garments float above plinths like well-dressed poltergeists (the label’s last lookbook used the same M.O.). Ox-blood breaks up the otherwise monotone spectrum, and a corresponding men’s look allows for couple dressing if you’re into that kind of thing (which you shouldn’t be, for the record).

The menswear doesn’t disappoint either, with hooded knitwear and classic Chronicles leather waterfall jackets. While complimented by combat boots, slim pants balance out bulk found in the layering on top. In other words it’s the sartorial dovetail between Maison Martin Margiela and a character from Assassin’s Creed. We want it all.
