What started out as a leaked, unverified image has evolved into an official announcement: Beyoncé is the star of Vogue’s now-even-more-iconic September issue – and has released images of her editorial overnight.
“There’s only one September issue, and there’s only one Beyoncé,” Vogue waxes lyrical on its bespoke website for the cover, in heinously hackneyed copy that can be forgiven – given the sheer gravity of its substance.
“Beyoncé is a powerhouse. She can sneer. She can out-strut and stare down any man in the film frame. Call her, in the songs, She Who Must Be Obeyed—in the palace, in the bedroom, in the hood, on the road, and on the runway,” it continues. Honestly. An intern one hundred per cent wrote this. But I digress.
