Australia Scores Two New High Fashion Mags in ’10’ and ’10 Men’

Continuing to smize in the face of financial adversity, the publishing industry is set to get a Tyra Banks style “High Fashion Makeover” with news today that former ACP editor Alison Veness will launch Australian editions of international fashion mastheads 10 and 10 Men.

Beginning with next month’s launch of a publication website, the hardcopy titles will then go to print biannually and concurrently with the magazine’s British counterpart, which is helmed by charismatic editor, stylist and creative director Sophie Neophitou-Apostolou. Smartphone and tablet editions are also set to launch in 2013.

Alison Veness released a statement saying “10 and 10 Men is a natural fit for Australian consumers who are internationally renowned for their love of fashion and have a thirst for luxury across all platforms. 10 is an independent, free-thinking and credible fashion destination among a plethora of formulaic, celebrity-obsessed publications.”

The Australian editions will reportedly feature the same international content alongside material tailored to a local audience.

Veness, formerly of Grazia and Harper’s Bazaar, told The Australian, “I want to go slowly and carefully and do it all properly,” a statement similar to the one made by ACP after reconfirming that the Australian edition of Elle was still set to (re) launch in 2013.

Veness continues, “Fashion is about change. Change is exciting. I love it. I’ve always embraced it. It sets everyone on edge.” Just like my friend Tyra does.
