ASOS Launches First Ever Region-Specific Line For Australia

Australia, do you even realise how much you love ASOS? Because ASOS sure does. The UK-based online retail giant has just announced that, for the first time ever, it will be designing and releasing collections exclusively for its Australian audience. This is kind of a big deal because it’s something the brand has never done before, for any other region around the world. In your face, Peru!

The Australian-specific initiative called ‘ASOS ‘In Your World’ was developed based on the fact that, after the UK, we make up the largest most buying-est territory in the world – despite our opposing seasonality (fashanz-speak for ‘what you where in Winter and what you wear in Summer’) to the UK. To give you a better understanding just how major the scope of our predilection for ASOS merch is, last time we spoke to the brand’s Fashion Director Caren Downie she told us that Australians purchase an item from the ASOS website every 8 seconds.

On the 1st of October 2012, ASOS will release a preview of their inaugural Spring Summer 2013 collection to Australia able to be shopped online only in Australia, which will include exclusive capsule lines for both girls and guys.

In another global-first, ASOS is holding its first ever consumer-friendly events to celebrate the launch, so if you want to be involved in this festival of locals-only chambray, mark your diaries for the following events:

ASOS Launch Events:
Tuesday October 9th – ASOS House Party – Fredas, Chippendale, Sydney
Wednesday October 10th – ASOS Salon – Sydney Opera House, Sydney
Thursday October 11th – ASOS Beach – Beach Haus, Potts Point, Sydney

Yeah all three events are in Sydney which hardly seems fair, however if you live elsewhere in Oz ASOS are running a competition for interstate shoppers with a prize of a trip for two to Sydney to attend all three events, including flights and accommodation.

Register for the events and find out more via ASOS.com/AU or facebook/asos . Australia, you be shopping.
