We might have gone down against the Netherlands in this morning’s World Cup tie, but damn it we went down swinging. And none swung harder than the ever-reliable, always-dependable, good for a sneaky goal or two, legitimate Aussie superstar Tim Cahill.

At the 21st minute, Cahill rattled home easily his best goal of his World Cup career, absolutely smoking a one-time opportunity past the Dutch goalkeeper and just underneath the cross bar.

Australia’s third and final tie in the Group stages of this World Cup is now effectively a dead rubber, after Spain was sensationally eliminated from the tournament. The defending World Cup champions were bundled out after losing to Chile 2-0.
Australia takes on Spain at 2am next Tuesday morning.
