Wallabies Belted Into Submission


The Wallabies’ season has gone from bad to worse after injuries played a major role in their heavy loss to the Springboks in Pretoria overnight. Possible long term injuries to Berrick Barnes and Radike Samo, a concussion that will probably rule Adam Ashely-Cooper out for next week’s match, and niggles to Digby Ioane and Tatafu Polota-Nau, meant the Wallabies finished the game with 14 on the field after using all 7 of their substitutions.

Irrespective of injuries, the Wallabies were monstered by the big, mobile South African pack from the outset and were never in the contest with the Springboks who scored 5 tries to 1 on the way to their 31-8 victory. In a week where Quade Cooper’s antics turned the heat up on the under performing Wallabies, a win, or at least a positive performance, were important with the team heading to Argentina to face the hostile Pumas. Based on last nights performance, we can expect more of this next week…
