UFC Champ Amanda Nunes Taunts Ronda Rousey After Stunning Win

Trash talk is part and parcel of the UFC, and the clashing of egos is frequently just as entertaining as what happens in the octagon, but it’s safe to say that Amanda Nunes is really relishing her victory over Ronda Rousey.
Earlier today, Rousey faced off against Nunes at UFC 207, her first bout since losing to Holly Holm in 2015, but it was far from a triumphant return, and the ref called time on the fight less than a minute.
Rousey left the octagon quickly after the fight, drawing criticism from some commentators, including Washington Post MMA writer Jeff Wagenheim accused her of “storming off” and labelled her behaviour as “classless.”
Nunes, however, had plenty to say for herself, and the Brazilian fighter taunted Rousey in her post-match press conference, telling journalists:
“This is amazing. This moment is my moment. She had her time. Right now, I’m the champion. People, let’s stop this Ronda Rousey nonsense. I’m the champion here. I knew I was going to beat the shit out of Ronda Rousey.”
She called on the UFC establishment and the media to end their obsession with the former champ and focus on other, up-and-coming fighters in the bantamweight division, saying:

“Everybody, I’m the best on the planet. Bullshit Ronda Rousey. In this division we have a lot of talent, now you guys have to look at these girls who are coming up and working hard, come on. Forget about Ronda Rousey.”
Nunes called Rousey’s pre-fight media blackout a “big mistake” and said that her career is over, adding: “She’s a millionaire now, why does she want to keep hurting herself? That’s it for her.”
The true savagery came later on social media, when Nunes posted the following:

Of course, fans on Twitter are now accusing Nunes of being classless in victory, just as Rousey was called a sore loser for failing to shake her opponent’s hand in defeat, and look, basically:
Rousey has yet to make a substantive statement, but many expect she will announce her retirement.
