Roy And HG Return To TV For The Xxii Sochi Winter Olympic Games

Network Ten, in partnership with Samsung, have announced that Roy Slaven and H.G. Nelson will provide the commentary for their Olympic coverage after a deal, which Ten’s head of sport David Barham describes as a “key signing” for the network, was finalised with the pair. Barham went on to say, “They are proven medal winners, they bring vast Olympic experience and we are looking forward to their insights on Russian culture.”

The duo will have a nightly show called Russian Revolution as part of the prime-time coverage program ‘Sochi Live’. Slaven has said of the appointment, “TEN has given us a great opportunity to look closely at the new Russia and to catch up with old friends newly released from prison. This will be a great games for our Australian winter superstars like Dale Begg-Smith and to unearth new stars the world is yet to hear about.”

Nelson has said that it is a “dream come true to be back at the Olympic coalface,” and that “There is no greater thrill in the world of sport than seeing young, fit Australians wearing the green and gold standing on the top step of the podium, wearing medals and grinning.”

Following the airing of the show on TEN/ONE/Tenplay, from the 7th of February, episodes of ‘Roy and H.G’s Russian Revolution’ will be available on the Samsung app to watch.
