Days after celebrating their 125th year anniversary, Scottish champions Celtic have recorded one of their biggest victories to date, defeating Spanish behemoths Barcelona in their Champions League clash.
Barcelona were expected to account for Celtic with little fuss but the Scottish champs defended wave after wave of Barcelona attack with the result only in danger after Lionel Messi’s injury time goal. The moments after the final whistle proved too much for long time fan Rod Stewart who wept cried unleashed a torrent of happy eye water in the wake of the victory.
The previously undefeated Barcelona remain at the top of the group while Celtic need only a draw when they travel to Lisbon to play Benfica to ensure their passage through to the Champions League top 16.
