Rabbitoh Sam Burgess Is Gonna Be OK After Stomach-Churning Injury

You’d be forgiven after seeing Rabbitohs player Sam Burgess’ horrifying head-on collision with St. George Dragons’ Mike Cooper that the bloke had sustained a really serious injury. Play was stopped for a few minutes, and his mother Julie was visibly shaken in the stands.

He was stretchered off the field, obviously in massive pain. The Rabbitohs lost to the Dragons 8 – 6.

But early this morning Burgess confirmed via Twitter that, despite some tingling in his arm, initial tests are positive, and it looks like he dodged a serious injury.
This follows South Sydney coach Michael Maguire telling News.com.au that initial speculation by the doctor that attended to Burgess was also positive.
“The doctor was pretty positive,” Maguire said. “He obviously had a bit of tingling down through one arm and they go through all the right processes.”

Lucky indeed, hey?
