It was touted as one of the best goals of all time, but already a sensational overhead effort from AC Milan’s Phillippe Mexes has given challenge to Zlatan Ibrahimovic sublime strike.
While Ibrahimovic probably edges out Mexes for the title on account of the distance from goal, Mexes shot is still an extraordinary effort. The goal put Milan one goal up on Anderlecht (they eventually won 3-1) and ensured they qualified for the knock out rounds of the Champions League.
It might not be the best goal of all time but we think we found the best goal reaction of all time. Irrespective of whether you speak fluent Italian (I don’t), little is lost in translation in this clip of Milan commentator and Movember patron saint Tiziano Crudeli watching the goal.
