It’s been a bloody big year for Fremantle Dockers‘ Ebony Antonio; apart from scoring herself a spot on the All Australian team and taking out Freo’s Best And Fairest for 2018, Ebony’s getting hitched to one of her teammates. Oh hell yeah, mates, 2018 is a hot year for this gun footballer.
Ebony’s partner and fellow teammate and Freo captain Kara Donnellan popped the question while the couple spends some much-needed post-season downtime over in Bali, and oh boy it’s the cutest shit you’ve ever seen.
The pair has also recently adopted a mortgage together and bought a house – it’s all legit. From what we can see, still no puppy…yet. Talk about kicking goals. LIFE GOALS.
Though there’s been a bit of caution around players discussing their personal lives and sexuality while also being in the national spotlight as top-level athletes, I think it’s a fantastic thing to be able to see queer women absolutely killing it both on the field and in their general lives. It creates a space where young girls can be inspired and encouraged to live their truth and be strong and confident in their own skin.
MORE AFL engagements and weddings, please. I demand it. I yearn for the cuteness of two players tying the knot and being the most formidable power couple in the whole damn league.
