Zane Alchin To Plead Guilty To Harassment For Slut-Shaming Woman Online

We bet you remember the story about Olivia Melville, the young woman who was wildly slut-shamed and abused online, merely because she had rap lyrics on her Tinder profile.

ICYMI: Olivia posted Drake lyrics on her Tinder profile. Someone screenshot her profile, and posted it to Facebook, slut-shaming her for quoting someone else’s lyrics. Her friends defended her. Then, a group of men, one of whom was Zane Alchin, proceeded to make a series of offensive, aggressive, and threatening comments to the group of women, including disgusting threats of rape (which this writer refuses to print here). You can read more about this story HERE.
Today, Zane Alchin appeared in Newtown Local Court, on charges of using a carriage service to harass, menace and offend.

His lawyer indicated that he would plead guilty to the charge, which carries a maximum penalty of three years in jail.
The women who were targeted by Alchin created the group Sexual Violence Won’t Be Silenced, and thanked supporters on their Facebook page today:

COURT UPDATE: After a long morning in court, the defendant has asked for more time, pending a plea. Reconvening in 6 weeks on the 8th of December. Thank you for your ongoing support, everyone.
