We Are Buying Much Fewer Soft Porn Magazines These Days

A sad indictment on the ever diminishing culture of print publications or a positive reflection on our improved aesthetic taste? For one reason or another, Australia’s soft porn magazine titles are struggling badly.

Mumbrella reports that FHM has suffered one of the biggest circulation drops in Australian media history, losing HALF its circulation in the last six months which is a staggering drop. Similarly Zoo, People and Picture lost a quarter of their respective circulations.

On the plus side for print Frankie magazine was one of the five fastest growing monthly titles of the last six months. Not surprising considering how closely it follows the cardinal rules of independent publishing, paying particular staid to the most important one of all which is to PROVIDE A POINT OF DIFFERENCE. No offense Krystal from Big Brother.
