Vincent Fantauzzo Meets Ezekial In NYC

Not long ago we wrote about award winning Australian painter Vincent Fantauzzo and his incredible project ’30 portraits in 30 days: New York City’, his ‘portrait’ of New York and its people. The first subject he painted for the project that began on 1 September 2010 is Ezekial, who Vince introduces as: “2 year old Ezekial (or lil sneakers) is representing the Bronx and is the coolest kid in the world…wait until you see him dance.”

Filmmaker Josh Rothstein has taken on the task of capturing Vincent’s ambitious endeavor on film. Here’s Rothstein’s first short film of the artist’s experience meeting and painting Ezekial – with images of the beautiful painting underneath.

The works that have resulted from “30 Portraits 30 Days NYC” has just opened as a show at the Ace Hotel New York and will be exhibiting in the gallery space (between the lobby and Opening Ceremony) through to the 17th of October. If you happen to be in New York make sure you hit up Ace Hotel New York on 20W 29th Street.
