Perhaps the only thing to have come from this week’s ABC budget cuts that won’t make you want to fall on a sword is this well-executed, albeit too brief, Monty Python mashup aptly-titled Tony Abbott and the Holy Grail.
Created by Hugh Atkin, it takes as its focus the original’s classic ‘Black Knight’ scene and features the week’s second best use of the rhetorical euphemism ‘efficiency dividend’ since, well, yesterday, when Malcolm Turnbull conceded that ‘efficiency dividend’ was little more than an artful turn of political doublespeak that translates directly as a ‘cut’. A cut being, after all, little more than a flesh wound.
