There’s Now Scientific Proof William Shakespeare Was A Pothead

A Midsummer Night’s Dream makes SO much more sense now.

English wordsmith William Shakespeare penned 154 sonnets and 38 plays in his 54 years – and we now know he was probably high AF the entire time, after tobacco pipes unearthed in his former garden tested positive for cannabis.
South African scientists came across the 17th century clay pipes while excavating Shakespeare’s Stratford-Upon-Avon garden and surrounding areas in an effort to learn more about Will’s life.
They were then subject to forensic testing; of the 24 fragments tested, pot residue was found in eight. And of those eight, four came from Shakespeare’s property.

Evidence of cocaine was also found in two pipes, though neither of them were from the Bard’s garden, so teachers can rest easy knowing the guy who forms the basis of English curriculum everywhere was only a pothead, not a coke fiend.

Puff puff prose, people.
