To upstage HBO’s teary nightmare that was their “in memoriam” video released at Comic-Con yesterday, AMC has provided a generous 4 minute trailer for the upcoming season 4 of The Walking Dead.
The trailer reveals that season 3’s newcomers, Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) have upped their status as permanent members of the prison dwellers, biding their time by battling zombies who just won’t give it a rest with Daryl Dixon and Glenn Rhee.
The usual suspects are present in the trailer: Walkers are pierced through their deadened eyes, a constant bloodbath ensues and ominous dialogue continually affirms that shit is getting real, you guys: “Step outside, you risk your life. Take a drink of water, you risk your life.”
The trailer also came with the tantalising news of The Walking Dead’s Season Four release date. Fans can look forward to the first half of the season airing from October 13. AMC has followed in its own footsteps of Breaking Bad‘s season five partitioned release, with the second half of The Walking Dead being released in early 2014.
Scott Gimple will replace Glen Mazzara as the showrunner for The Walking Dead’s fourth season.
