Some Absolute Fuckwits Have Hacked & Posted Nudes On Leslie Jones’ Website

Leslie Jones has had a hell of a month, and honestly, you just want to hug her and tell her everything is gonna be alright. 

After being endlessly abused online after the release of her new movie, the female reboot of ‘Ghostbusters’, she quit Twitter. Then she came back after someone offered to fly her to the Rio Olympics, due to her innate love of commentating and live-tweeting it. 

One of the main people driving the campaign against Leslie was Milo Yiannopoulos, far-right loudmouth and constant misunderstander of the concept of ‘free speech’. 

After the awful and terrifying amount of abuse laid against her (for literally no other reasons except 1. Leslie is a black woman and 2. She starred in a movie that was gender-reversed to have women as the leads), Twitter announced they were officially banning Milo from their platform, which evidently angered his fanbase.

Now, Jones’ website has been hacked, and the content describing her illustrious career as a talented comedian has been replaced with personal details and imagery. 

The website has been pulled down, but media sources reported that the hackers replaced the site with nude images of Leslie, photos of her drivers license and passport, personal images of her with other celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Rihanna, and finally, images of Harambe the gorilla.

Celebrities have already rallied around Leslie, denouncing the actions of the hackers:

Obviously, there are reports that the hack was perpetrated by fans of Yiannopoulos, which has not been confirmed at time of writing. 

One source says that Milo’s public response to the hack was respectful and empathetic, saying in a statement to THR,

But his private Snapchat provided a response that was much more Milo-ish (e.g. insufferably arrogant):

So, all in all, a friendly, talented and successful Woman of Colour who does not have a bad bone in her body gets hacked, violated and abused to no end, for no absolutely no reason other than some dickheads thinking that those things constitute ‘freedom of speech’. 

Let’s be clear: unless a government body is forcefully attempting to silence you for expressing an opinion, ya freedom of speech ain’t being impeded. People telling you that you’re a total cunt because you think it’s your right to abuse, oppress, and vilify minorities isn’t a violation of your human rights. 

Let’s say it together: Freedom of speech doesn’t cover hate speech, and it never has.
