The Royal Australian Mint is bringing out a collection of limited edition coins to commemorate the best parts of Aussie culture, and of course, Neighbours is involved.

The Great Aussie Coin Hunt, as they’re calling it, starts today (September 30) in partnership with Australia Post, and will feature 26 coins to celebrate the A-Z of true-blue Aussie culture.

All of the coins feature iconic parts of Aussie culture, but none pulled at my patriotism quite like the R for Ramsay Street coin. I mean, who doesn’t love Neighbours? Everybody needs good neighhhhboursssss.

Each Monday between now and October 21, you’ll have six new coins to add to your collection. It’s like the adult-equivalent of Ooshies, and I am living for it.

The catch? You can only get them from one of 3,600 Australia Post Offices. I know, I know, going to the post office is a huge chore. But now you can at least get a cool dollary-doo in change.

“Not only will it be really exciting to hunt for all the coins and build an amazing collection, but each and every coin opens up the opportunity for wonderful conversations about quintessential Australian life,” Australia Post Executive General Manager Community and Consumer Nicole Sheffield said.

“It’s a great way for grandparents to connect with grandchildren, and for all of us to share our own experiences and memories with each other — both here and with friends and family overseas.”

Honestly, I love this idea. What a great conversation starter when you’re paying for your coffee or borrowing spare change from your mum’s wallet to buy said coffee.

Neighbours has been a huge part of Australian culture for 34 years now, birthing stars like Kylie Minogue, Margot Robbie and the Hemsworth brothers. So naturally, it needed to be commemorated with a limited edition coin.

The collection includes icons from all parts of Aussie culture, with brands like Weet-Bix and Zooper Doopers, as well as more generic concepts like footy and meat pies.

Other coins to be released will include I for Iced Vovo,  H for Hills Hoist, V for Vegemite and Z for Zooper Doopers.
