One person is dead after light plane crashed into a suburban housing area in Melbourne‘s south-east.
The incident occurred at around 1:30pm this afternoon, with witnesses on the scene stating the plane came down in a laneway on top of properties in the bayside suburb of Chelsea.
It has been confirmed that one person has died in the crash, though it is not yet confirmed if that person was the pilot of the aircraft. No other injuries are known at this time.
The crash occurred on The Strand – a street that runs to the water, situated near Chelsea Railway Station. Witnesses on the scene report that the plane “miraculously missed homes.”
