It’s kinda weird, but Melbourne‘s CBD is home to the only metropolitan breeding spot for the one of Victoria‘s rarest birds – the Peregrine Falcon.
Sitting atop 376 Collins Street, the nest that has been there since 1991 plays a big role in the preservation of the bird of prey’s ecosystem, and overnight the two little eggies that the big birbs have been incubated finally hatched.
Two brand new fluffy babies have been nestled in snugly under mama & papa’s feathered bodies, as they take turns to hunt and gather food for the wee babs. You can check them out on their own personal 24hr live cam, if you wanna burn the last hour of your work day.
LOOK AT THE TINY SMALLS
The two tiny peepers will grow up to be birds who do big air zoomies, as Peregrine Falcons are known to be the fastest animals in the world, getting up to 330km/h swoops. Hot damn local magpies, eat your heart out.
Aww, they’re so cute if you kinda disregard the fact that they’ll absolutely peck your eyeballs out if you give them half the chance.
Keep your pets safe and sound from the time they’re a wee bab by keeping them covered. Grab insurance through petinsurance.com.au over HERE and cop the first two months free.
