Nick Cave’s Son, 15, Dies In Tragic Brighton Cliffs Fall

Absolutely tragic news to wake up to this morning, as Australian musician Nick Cave and wife Susie have released a statement confirming the death of their 15-year-old son, Arthur Cave.

On Tuesday evening, walkers found Arthur Cave at the base of Brighton Chalk CliffsOvingdean Gap – a 60 foot descent from the clifftops above. Nick and Susie Cave’s statement to the public asked for privacy following the news. “Our son Arthur died on Tuesday evening. He was our beautiful, happy, loving boy. We ask that we be given the privacy our family needs to grieve at this difficult time.”

Arthur Cave was Nick Cave’s fourth son—Cave has two sons from a previous relationship, and one other with Susie Cave, Arthur’s twin brother Earl.

According to The Guardian, Arthur Cave’s death is not being treated as suspicious. An area on the Brighton Chalk Cliffs has been sectioned off, according to reports, with Cave’s schoolmates and friends paying tribute to the late teenager.

RIP.
