Florida police have reviewed security footage of Venus Williams‘ car crash, which left an elderly man dead, and found that she entered the intersection where the crash occurred “lawfully“.
This finding appears to contradict earlier indications that Williams was at fault for the accident.
The police have released the footage, which you can see below, and a statement, which reads in part:
“Based on the evidence obtained in the ongoing investigation, it has been determined the vehicle driven by Venus Williams lawfully entered the intersection on a circular green traffic signal.”
The whole investigation is still ongoing, but Williams hasn’t been cited or charged for the accident. She has expressed her “heartbreak” for the crash, and extended her condolences to the family of the man who died.
