Melbourne Once Again Ranked As The World’s Most Liveable City

We found out earlier this week that global tourists rated Melbourne as the world’s friendliest city. Now we’ve had it confirmed once again that the Victorian capital is also the world’s most liveable city, cementing the fact that the nation’s southern metropolis is absolutely killing it as far as “being a city” is concerned.

The International Index of Liveability – which is produced by the Economist Intelligence Unit – published their annual ranking of global cities, which was topped by Melbourne for the fourth straight year. The city scored perfect 100s in ranking categories like healthcare, education, infrastructure, and sport. And performed extremely well in other categories like stability, culture and the environment.
But more than just being a glorious triumph for Melbourne, Australia as a whole performed remarkably well, with four cities making the top ten – Adelaide clocked in at equal fifth, Sydney scored itself seventh place, while Perth came in at a mightily impressive ninth.
Australia’s four appearances constituted the most entries of any nation in the top ten, eclipsing Canada who had a measly three.
But if you’re not living in a city in the top ten (or even if you are) and are looking for an urban upgrade, you’re really not going to go wrong with any of the locations that made the list. In fact, you’re probably gonna have a real good time in any one of these places.

Just… y’know… maybe avoid any of the cities that found themselves in the bottom ten of the list (and that’s out of 140 cities ranked, too).
