As though thought-provoking Muslim author and activist Yassmin Abdel-Magied didn’t already have enough to deal with, what with an entire country deciding she’s the devil for her extremely mild and immediately retracted ANZAC Day sentiments, she’s now having to face yet another inconvenience: someone has dobbed on her to the Australian Human Rights Commission.

According to a thread she posted to Twitter yesterday, someone has complained about Abdel-Magied’s tweets to the HRC. The contents of the complaint remain unpublicised, as Abdel-Magied has said she can’t provide more details yet – but one has to wonder what, exactly, there is to complain about with regards to Yassmin’s Twitter.

According to the Australian Human Rights Commission’s website, they can “investigate and resolve complaints of discrimination, harassment and bullying” based on a person’s sex, disability, race, and age – none of which ring any bells for Abdel-Magied’s content, but let’s not let facts get in the way of the many anti-Yassmin racists looking for something to have a whinge about!

In her tweets addressing the complaint, Abdel-Magied quite rightly muses on how much time her detractors must have on their hands, and wonders what might have happened had she reported “every single thing that people said to me that was racially, religiously or sexually charged?

You can read the full thread below. What an absolutely wild turn of events this is. If anyone’s got grounds to go to the Human Rights Commission, it’s Yassmin Abdel-Magied.
