Serial killer Ivan Milat has been moved from Goulburn Correctional Centre to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, according to a report from 7 News.

7 News is reporting that Milat was taken to the hospital in a “high-security convoy” on Monday night, and will have two guards stationed on him at all times.

Corrective Services NSW would not confirm the identity of the prisoner transferred to the hospital, simply acknowledging in a statement that “a 74-year-old inmate is being treated in a Sydney hospital“.

According to 9 News, Milat is receiving “scheduled scans” and will return to Goulburn in a matter of days. The Daily Telegraph is reporting that he is receiving “specialist medical treatment“.

Milat had a previous hospital transfer in 2009, that time for cutting off his own finger, which he intended to mail to the High Court.

Milat has been serving seven consecutive life sentences since 1996.
