‘Hunger Games’ Cast Wear Paris Pins, Refuse Interviews As Mark Of Respect

For a movie series as balls-to-the-wall hectic as The Hunger Games, stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutchinson showed the subtle things still matter at the L.A premiere of Mockingjay – Part 2.

After canning interviews in the light of Paris’ terrorist attacks, the film’s cast and crew attended the red-carpet event wearing the series’ signature Mockingjay pins emblazoned with the French flag.

The series’ producers Lionsgate said they went ahead with the L.A premiere in honour “of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion.” CEO Jon Feltheimer added. “we want to express our sympathy to the brave people of Paris. We stand with them tonight.”

Despite all the time and effort put into the series, going full-bore on the final premiere would have been pretty seedy. Again, wearing a ribbon doesn’t mend a city broken by senseless violence, but it is a pretty classy demonstration of the ideals the films put on-screen.
So, kudos to you, archers, bakers and freedom fighters of the cinema world.
