Happy Monday! Trump Tweeted A Video Of Himself Literally Bodyslamming CNN

By this point there is probably very little that should surprise you about Trump‘s conduct as President of the United States, but here goes anyway: he tweeted a video of himself bashing a dude with a CNN logo for a head.

Well, there it is:

Howsaboutit.
It’s an edited clip of Trump’s appearance on Wrestlemania XXIII in 2007, where he bodyslammed WWE president Vince McMahon and shaved his head. Of all Trump’s myriad crimes, being the only president to appear on WWE is easily his most praiseworthy.
Also, this tweet led a journalist at venerable news publication The Guardian to write this sentence:

The video appeared to have been taken from Reddit, where it was reportedly posted by a user named “HanAssholeSolo”.
Trump’s been ramping up his attacks on the so-called ‘fake news’ media, with particular focus on CNN. He’s also lashed out at media and fellow Republicans who have suggested – in one way or another – that he should perhaps log off for a bit and stop tweeting.

CNN issued a statement about the video in the tweet, which is a wonderful place for the discourse to be at.

It is a sad day when the president of the United States encourages violence against reporters. Clearly, [deputy White House press secretary] Sarah Huckabee Sanders lied when she said the president had never done so.

Instead of preparing for his overseas trip, his first meeting with Vladimir Putin, dealing with North Korea and working on his healthcare bill, he is instead involved in juvenile behaviour far below the dignity of his office. We will keep doing our jobs. He should start doing his.
Ah. All very good then.
