Guys Watch Their Girlfriends Get Catcalled, Aren’t Least Bit Chill

Catcalling has to be the least effective way to get laid in history, but we know that it’s not even about picking up, really – it’s about power. Specifically: the power of a random dude on the street to make a woman feel uncomfortable because he feels like he’s goddam entitled to.

Cosmopolitan, more commonly known for publishing sex tips that should not be tried by anyone ever, had three women wear hidden GoPros as they were catcalled walking the streets of New York City. Later, they sat down with their boyfriends to watch back the footage and the guys’ reactions were filmed.

Spoiler: they’re not even a little bit chill with what they see.

One boyfriend – Miguel – points out what should be bleeding obvious to anyone with a basic grasp of biology: that these women are someone’s daughters, sisters, girlfriends, etc, and perhaps those catcalling bros wouldn’t appreciate it if it happened to a female person THEY knew.

Valid point, but take away the implication of ownership here, and what are you left with? People – and ones who deserve respect based on that fact alone.
