Grafton Inmates Denied Shawshank Style Break Out

Audiences rooted for Andy Dufresne because he was generous, resilient, taught people how to read and because we always thought he was innocent. We can’t say the same for Grafton inmates whose Shawkshank style break-out was foiled Saturday morning when guards noticed some irregularities in a section of brick wall. Closer inspection revealed that brickwork had been removed via a painstaking process which involved scraping mortar with a hook, resetting the bricks with wet toilet paper and re-painting the facade to cover up their handiwork. ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?

The weakened area of wall was large enough for an adult male to crawl through and formed a cavity between a second wall in which inmates had hidden a rope made from linen sheets and a grappling hook fashioned from a coathanger removed from the back of a door.

Police say that work on the second wall was imminent and that it was lucky the plan was detected when it was.

It is not yet known whether the warden plans on killing himself as a result.

Here’s a simulation of how it should have happened.
