‘Girls’ Fave Zosia Mamet Was A Chic Woodland Fairy On Her Wedding Day

In the same way you know Shoshanna Shapiro would have cringed at the idea of a traditional wedding, so too did Zosia Mamet, the newly-married actress who played her.

The former Girls’ star wed boyfriend of three-and-a-half years, actor Evan Jonigkeit, eight weeks ago and the whole affair was chicly atypical.
Mamet opted for a black Givenchy wrap dress over a white gown, and told US Vogue – with whom she shared the first pics of their big day on a moody 500-acre estate in Hudson Valley, just outside of NYC – it was the last of 40 she tried on.

“I wanted something comfortable, and I didn’t really want to wear white,” she said. “The minute it went over my head, both my friends gasped. It definitely wasn’t the most epic in terms of the dress’s power on its own, but it fit me like a glove in every way, and I knew, without a doubt, that it was my dress. That was it, I bought it off the rack.”
Embracing the rustic atmosphere of the venue, her directive when it came to hair and makeup was to look like a bomb woodland fairy nymph – and that she did, with dark flowers threaded through her hair.
Their 100 guests, who no doubt included Lena Dunham and friends, “talked, danced, sang and midnight-snacked until the wee hours of the morning”, she says.
Extra-cute detail: specially-designed temporary tattoos with the couple’s initials inside a love heart.
