Four Killed, Six Injured After Shooters Open Fire In Tel Aviv Market

Four people have been killed and six wounded in a shooting at a shopping centre in Tel Aviv, Israel. The Sarona complex is a popular shopping area, and is located near Israel’s defence ministry.
Allegedly two gunmen were involved, with one firing inside the complex and one firing from an adjacent street. The gunmen – both Palestinians from the same family in the occupied West Bank, according to police – were apparently dressed in suits and ties and posing as restaurant customers.
After opening fire at 9:30pm and killing four people, the two assailants were shot, apprehended and arrested by police.
One nearby cafe patron described the event:
Me and a couple of friends were sitting at the restaurant here just having some ice cream when we heard the shots. I was sitting in the direction so I could see the shooter. I saw him. It looked like he was sitting in a chair at the cafe and he had a rifle in his hand. He was just shooting point blank at people. He didn’t say anything.

The shooting is the latest salvo in violence between Israelis and Palestinians. Over the past eight months conflict has escalated, resulting in the death of 28 Israelis and over 200 Palestinians.
