Former Melbourne AFL Player Allegedly Filmed Ex-Girlfriend While She Slept

Ex-Melbourne AFL player Colin Sylvia has been arrested and charged surrounding an incident where he reportedly filmed his former girlfriend on his mobile phone whilst she slept.

The 33-year-old, who played for both Melbourne Demons and the Fremantle Dockers before his career ended in 2014, has been accused of sending abusive text messages to the ex-girlfriend, before confronting her at her Windsor apartment and subsequently fleeing when she called the police.

The Herald Sun reports Sylvia then returned to the building later, hid in a vacant unit next door and spied on her through her window. Police then allegedly found footage on his mobile phone of her sleeping.

Victoria Police have confirmed that Sylvia was arrested in Windsor on Sunday over “assault-related matters”.

He has been released on bail with his next court appearance set for November 28.
