FBi’s SMAC Awards Winners 2012

What’s the collective noun for hangover? Whatever the word is would be a good way to describe us after last night’s 2012 SMAC Awards aka Sydney Music, Art & Culture Awards presented by our good mates at local radio station FBi. Pedestrian was thrilled to present the award for Best Collective which went to the extremely stoked party-throwers, live music-hosters and general purpose trouble-makers Dirty Shirlows.

The rest of the deserving 2012 SMAC Award winners – voted for by the public – are as follows:
Best Visual Artist: Daniel O’Toole/EARS
Best Arts Event: Outpost
Best Collective presented by Pedestrian.TV: Dirty Shirlows
Best Live Music Act presented by Allans Music + Billy Hyde: The Jezabels
Best Major Festival presented by The Brag: Harvest
Best Music Event: Goodgod Long Birthday Nights
Best On Screen: Sam Bennetts for “Act Your Age”, Bluejuice
Best On Stage: Nick Coyle
Best Song: Matt Corby, ‘Brother’
Next Big Thing presented by Alberts: Matt Corby
Record Of The Year: Lanie Lane, ‘To The Horses’
Remix The City: Jurassic Lounge
Best Eats presented by The Thousands Sydney: The Dip
SMAC Of The Year: Millie Millgate

Shout out to Pedestrian contributor and co-host of The Walkthrough, Max Lavergne, who hosted the night and did a bang up job on the mic until he offended Matt Corby’s fans. Idiot.

A huge congratulations to all the winners and an enormous thank you to FBi, all the sponsors and those who performed on the night for providing a terrific evening of entertainment and recognition for the ones who inject the city of Sydney with goodness.
