Falls Fest Releases Update On Crowd Crush, Announces On-Site Phone Lines

Falls Festival has issued an update following a serious crowd crush incident at the festival’s Lorne event last night.

In a statement, organisers confirmed 19 people were hospitalised after the stampede-like event.
According to the update, none of them are in “critical” conditions, and the families of all hospitalised patrons have been contacted.
ABC reports that Geelong Hospital, which received 15 patients, has discharged four so far.
The Falls Festival statement also confirms that 60 more injured attendees were treated on-site by paramedics.
Those behind the festival reiterated “the safety and wellbeing of our patrons is of paramount concern to us.

“Whilst a very distressing situation, we are heartened and thankful for the amazing work of our medical teams and staff who responded with such care and support to those affected and continue to do so for the remaining duration of the festival.”
Patrons currently on-site have been informed they can call those outside the festival via a phone hub set up in the main arena, while those looking to contact attendees are advised to email patroninfo@fallsfestival.com.
