Trump Joked About Murdering The Turkeys Obama Pardoned Last Thanksgiving

U.S. President Donald Trump has proven that not even a tradition as sacred as the Thanksgiving turkey pardon is safe from political overtones, using the hallowed occasion to take a dig at his predecessor Barack Obama.

During the single most important event on the White House calendar, Trump granted Drumstick the turkey a reprieve from his otherwise certain death, awkwardly petting the overgrown and likely sedated bird.

That moment of grace only came after Trump said Drumstick and compatriot Wishbone will “join Tater and Tot, the two turkeys pardoned last year by President Obama,” at Virginia Tech’s Gobbler’s Rest ranch.

Trump then segued into a rare moment of self-deprecation (or genuine pride in his pathologically vindictive nature), saying “as many of you know, I have been very active in overturning a number of executive actions by my predecessor.

“However I have been informed by the White House Counsel’s office that Tater and Tot’s pardons cannot, under any circumstances be revoked.”

“So, we’re not gonna revoke them. So Tater and Tot, you can rest easy.”

While obviously framed as a joke, we cannot help but think Trump would urge one of his heavies to strangle Tot in the dead of night. Protect ya neck, Tot.

Anyway, if you’re the kind of person who’d like to watch Donald Trump wave his hand over a scote-necked flappy boi, you can catch his entire speech from the 10:30 mark in the video below:
