Daily Tele Stays On Brand, Goes Rogue With Plibersek Photoshop

The graphic design team behind News Corp’s daily papers The Herald Sun, The Daily Telegraph and The Courier Mail often swing between two extremes: either deserving a huge frothy for their efforts, or a huge bloody slap for managing to upstage their bullshit headlines.

Cases where they deserve a frothy: generally everything involving Bill Shorten or Clive Palmer (tasteless, sure, but not outrageously damaging, all things considered); cases where they deserve a huge bloody slap: every time their boners for fear-mongering have led them to ‘shop Australian politicians or figures arm in arm with terrorists.

Today’s Photoshop job? CC: ALP Deputy Tanya Plibersek.

Digitally altered image” – o rly?

The article reprises News Corp’s favourite term, “death cult“, in an article titled, “TERROR AID: Plibersek Wants To Drop Food Instead Of Bombs.”

National political reporter Daniel Meers reported on Tanya Plibersek’s comments on ABC morning radio yesterday – where Plibersek called out the lack of assistance Australia gives to Syrian refugees: “With 11.5 million people displaced, with millions in neighbouring countries like Jordan, like Lebanon, like Turkey, we should be doing more to help but we’ve actually reduced our assistance to Syrian refugees.

Publishing a Page 2 “exclusive” to smear a politician for wanting to aid the refugee crisis?

Stay classy.
