Chief Suspect Of Berlin Christmas Market Truck Attack Shot Dead In Milan

Anis Amri, the man suspected of killing 12 people by driving a truck through a Berlin Christmas market, has been killed during a shootout in Milan.

Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti confirmed the 24-year-old’s death, saying “without any shadow of a doubt [it] is Anis Amri, the presumed suspect of the terrorist attack in Berlin.”

Local media claims police spotted Amri in the vicinity of the Piazzo Maggio train station, at which point he drew a firearm from a bag and shot at police.
A police officer was injured during the shootout, and is recovering in hospital.
