‘Better Call Saul’ Spinoff Recruits Breaking Bad Writers, Assembles Production Team, Is Truly Happening

Television’s most anticipated and genuinely asked for spinoff is slowly advancing to be a thing we can become overly excited for, as Breaking Bad‘s novelty younger brother, Batter Call Saul, has begun recruiting its team.

Helmed by Breaking Bad hero Vince Gilligan and producer Peter Gould, the prequel series that will follow the seedy story of Walter White’s legal saviour, Saul Goodman, has naturally taken on some of Breaking Bad’s staffers to bring this mother to life. Most notably, Breaking Bad writer Thomas Schnauz will join the Better Call Saul team as co-executive producer; Schnauz was the writer behind the emmy-nominated and completely thrilling episode “Say My Name”, of Breaking Bad’s fifth season. According to Variety, Better Call Saul will also be recruiting Gennifer Hutchinson, known for co-writing the Breaking Bad episode “Confessions”.

Aside from the promising Breaking Bad production team alumni and the presence of Bob Odenkirk, what else do we know about Better Call Saul? Sadly, not much. Bryan Cranston confirmed that he could make a cameo on the show “if it made sense”; Peter Gould has assured fans that the show won’t be “what people are expecting,” and it’s likely that the show will be airing on AMC before the end of 2014.

Regarding the series’ plot, Variety also confirms Better Call Saul’s tagline as: “From parking tickets to mass murder, from slip-and-fall to bond fraud, Saul handles it all.”

Will. Watch.
