Australian Teen Confirmed As Injured, Non-Critical In Paris Attacks

Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman confirmed in a statement that a young Australian woman is among those injured in today’s terrorist attacks in Paris.

The woman was identified as 19-year-old Emma Grace Parkinson, who reportedly sustained a gunshot wound near the Eagles Of Death Metal concert in the Bataclan concert hall.

The Premier’s statement says she is being treated in a Paris hospital, but did not elaborate on her condition.
Kate Rees, a friend of Hodgman living in Paris, had sporadic contact with her throughout the night, and said she was relieved to hear she had only sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She also said she was “horrified that anyone, especially a 19-year-old had to see that”.

Hodgman’s injuries are the first reported Australian casualty from the attacks in France.
