Samara Weaving, the former Home & Away star and niece of actor Hugo Weaving, claims that a series of nude photos of her allegedly leaked online are fake.
The Australian actress was reportedly the victim of notorious website Celeb Jihad – which tends to post stacks of faked and Photoshopped nudes alongside stolen photos. Samara’s father Simon Weaving says that the actress believes the photos being circulated are in fact fake.
“She has said they are doctored,” he said yesterday. “We have been texting all morning, but haven’t spoke about the situation at length.”
“I think the best theory with this sort of this is not to give it oxygen,” he said earlier.
“I have her to ignore it and to concentrate on her work.”
This event follows a series of purported hacks of celebrities’ personal email and cloud storage accounts – including people like Emma Watson. Hopefully we don’t need to tell you that it’s a gross (and illegal) invasion of privacy.
Weaving lives between Australia and the United States. She landed in Melbourne this week to begin shooting Foxtel‘s Picnic at Hanging Rock series.
