A 12-year-old boy has been shot in the face on a property in Thuddungra, near Young in south-west rural NSW.
Police report the boy and his friend were playing around with a .22 calibre rifle when the gun was accidentally discharged around 7.00pm last night, with a round ricocheting into the boy’s face.
Thuddungra, north of Young, NSW.
The boy was immediately taken to a local hospital but has since been airlifted to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
His injuries are believed to be non life-threatening and whilst police are investigating the incident at this point, they say that they do not believe it to be suspicious.
